Sachicasaurus is a giant plesiosaur from the Early Cretaceous of Colombia, around 130 million years ago. Long-necked elasmosaurids like it hunted fish and squid with four flippers in the shallow seas that once covered much of South America. The name comes from the region where the skeleton was found.

The surface breaks
It surfaces the way plesiosaurs do. No drama, no splash. Just water streaming off a body built for a sea that has been gone for a hundred million years. The neck comes out first, then the head, and the world above the surface starts again.
Scene 02 / 03
A meal draws a crowd
The carcass is the center of attention today. It tears a piece off, and the pterosaurs that were squatting on it take off all at once, annoyed and patient at the same time. They know how this works. The big one eats first. They always come back.
Scene 03 / 03
The arrival
From a distance it is a quiet scene. The carcass, the pterosaurs picking at it, nothing moving fast. Then the water bulges at the edge of the frame. It is already there, below the surface, taking its time. The pterosaurs do not know yet. They are about to.
